Bad Dates?
by simplesally inran across these experiences and thought they were funny:monica, 40, knew she wasn't interested in a guy she met at a speed dating event by the end of the date.
"he insisted twice on cracking my back after our goodbye hug," she says, noting she declined his offer for a back adjustment and a second date.
sheryl, 32, was thrilled when a hunky jock asked her out to a dinner theater.

I never had a bad date.
Sheila proposed to me the night we met and the rest is history. 20 years of history I might add.

by Celtic inthis ruddy bird has been driving me up the wall for ruddy days with it's ruddy call, at first i thought it liked me, thought it might want to mate with me or something.
every time i got close to it, it would put out it's feathers in this enormous and beautiful display.
today however, would the ruddy bird do it for me, ruddy thing is as cantankerous as valis.

Six,
The fact that they can and most often do refrain from doing what they might like to do is what seperates men that could harm a child from men that would never harm a child. Sub-humans from humans, reprobates from honorable men, feinds from heros. They may have wanted to take him out, may even have expressed in words those feelings, but in the end they exercised control.
I think you do know how they control their actions.Because like you they see the evil and injustice of the situation and while feeling righteous indignation they hold fast their humanity and keep a level head.
Personally I think he would make a great hood ornament for the next shuttle flight! -

appeals to terrorists
'Fahrenheit 9/11' gets thumbs-up from HezbollahPosted: June 17, 2004

Opponents of filmmaker Michael Moore are making the most of an endorsement his Bush-bashing film "Fahrenheit 9/11" received from terrorists affiliated with Hezbollah.
The Guardian of London reported today organizations related to the Middle East-based terrorist network have offered to help promote the film in the United Arab Emirates.

www.cfo.comThe terror-war supporting organization Move America Forward released a statement today saying the news about Hezbollah proves a contention it made about terrorist endorsement of Moore's award-winning documentary.
Earlier this week, Move America Forward Vice Chair Melanie Morgan declared: "It would be more appropriate to have this propaganda shown at al-Qaida training camps rather than American movie theaters."
The organization released an "apology" for Morgan's statement today, saying she didn't go far enough with her criticism.
"I regret that we limited our comments solely to the terrorist organization al-Qaida and failed to mention that other terrorist groups, like Hezbollah, would also rally behind this film," said the group's chairman, Howard Kaloogian.
"'Fahrenheit 9/11' serves one purpose and one purpose only: to undermine the United State's war against terrorism. This is precisely why Move America Forward has asked Americans to register their dissatisfaction with movie theaters that choose to show this film."
Concluded Kaloogian: "Now is the time for Americans to stand united behind the men and women fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan to preserve our safety and national security, not promote the agenda of radical terrorist organizations like Hezbollah."
Tina Brown reviewed the movie for the Washington Post, hammering Moore for his use of "wacky insinuations."
"In Moore's version of Iraq nobody was hanging from a meat hook in Saddam Hussein's jails. Baghdad was a happy city where children frolicked in the streets until boom! we blew them away," she writes.
"The invasion of Afghanistan? That was just a cover for running an oil pipeline across the country. ?"

I'm thinking that the human spirit should rise above the law and we might try doing the right thing in such cases for a change.
Sixy, I don't mean to step on your toes. I'm glad there people like you around to keep things in perspective. I do feel though that the justice system yeilds too much to the rights of the accused and is oft unfare to the victim. Perhaps he did steal the children away and they are in hiding because they were in an abusive situation with their mother, though nothing like that has been offered up by him or the authorities.
Freedom, Corvin,
I'm with you on this one. There was just a spot on America's Most Wanted featuring the faces of the kids and the fact that they were still missing. It is feared that they have been drowned. As barbaric as some might think, should it be found so I believe the just thing would be to sink his sorry ass in the same spot they were left. What fear have men like this to ponder when their treatment by the authorities after the comission of the crime is so diametricaly opposite the way they treated their victim or in this case victims? If he had a beef with his ex-wife, that is one thing but to take it out on the children shows the depth of depravity that he has chosen to sink to.
Chosen is the key word there. He made his choice to step out of the bounds of civil human behavior and therefor in my opinion has forfiet his rights to be treated civily. It is the same justice system that sets the bounds of civil behavior, everything from taking of lives to cussing in public. Why in the long term does it seem that the system works only for those that can affort to manipulate or abuse it? Those babies had no choice in the matter. The court mandated visitation and if the mom had refused then she would have been in dutch. Instead now she stands at a candlelight vigil praying for the safe return of her boy and girl while her ex-husband sits in jail refusing to assist the police in the search for his own kids. Should they be found alive he will probably get some prison time where he can have his teeth fixed, sculpt his body, get his degree and write a book or sell his story to hollywood. Should they be found dead, his situation will not be much different and the family will be left devistated and distraught. Where is the justice in that?
I'll be the first to admit that my values are very conservative. I also admit to having a bit of a god complex, but only because god has chosen to drop the ball. For a group of cult survivors and abuse survivors, I would think we might be more understanding of the needs of the victims of such crimes and manipulations. We have a great bunch of folks here, many different voices, many different ideals. I think we can all agree that what Porter is doing is wrong, whether he kidnapped and murdered the children or he kidnapped and hid them away for their own safety. The former is worthy death the latter of understanding, but with acceptance that it wasn't handled properly. I only pray that they are brough thome safely and soon.
